Learning Materials In pairs (2) you will design and construct two learning materials that may be used in an early childhood setting for children with disabilities (e.g., orphanage, school setting) and may be fabricated in a lab in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Application of the five relevant principles of learning in early childhood should be evident in your design (sensory stimulation, active involvement (learning by doing), hands on play, concept/skill inherent in play material, and consideration for various learning styles. See attached document for complete description of principles. Begin with a list of materials that are needed to fabricate your designs. Next, include step by step written instructions for designing the learning materials. You must include photographs for each stage of the construction. Each of your learning materials will need to focus on sensory stimulation. Select an additional dominant area of development for each one that is unique to your learning materials (e.g., material one: auditory plus fine motor; material two: auditory plus gross motor).

Students will present their project either in week 11 or week 12 during class time. Students must attend both days and attend all presentations.
