1. Uta Hagen?s Six Steps. Provide a detailed answer to each of her questions for developing a character. Your answers must take into consideration the given circumstances of the play and your analysis of the entire script.

2.You must turn in a complete scored script (of your selected monologue) including:
*A copy of the speech you are performing.

*A Super Objective – What is the overriding want or desire that drives your character? Although you may have explored this in your ?Six Steps,? it is so important in this method that it is worth repeating here.

*A Present Objective – What is your character attempting to accomplish in the moment? (Remember: this Present Objective must serve to fulfill your Super Objective.)

*Beats – Divide your monologue into units of action. There are many shifts in a monologue: find them!

*Tactics – a new tactic, in verb/adverb form, for each beat in your monologue.

3. A detailed design description: Using the terminology from the design module, write an explanation of your:

*Setting (location, lighting)
*Sound (please have at least one sound element included in your piece: music or a sound element like a doorbell ring or a bird song).
